An integrated industry perspective.

Light Link: A look back on 2022

It’s been a busy year at Light Link with so much happening, from regional expansion and team growth to iconic projects that have been talked about worldwide. As we head towards the end of 2022, here’s a look at some of our biggest achievements over the last 12 months.

After building solid foundations in the UAE, we established a truly regional presence, with high-profile projects, including offices for Pfizer in Saudi Arabia, PwC in Kuwait, and a VIP fan zone for the World Cup in Qatar. As our influence grows, the priority is on maintaining the same high standards of service that clients have come to expect, and we look forward to maximising these opportunities further over the coming months.

In the UAE, a highlight was undoubtedly the Museum of the Future where Light Link won the bid to design, supply, and commission the lighting and lighting controls. We also handled many other major projects, such as Statistics Centre Abu Dhabi, TwoFour54, Clifford Chance, and Bank of America.

Workplace wellness is integral to our ethos and we’re proud to support clients and stakeholders who share the same values. It was fantastic to see PwC Middle East’s Dubai office receive the region’s first commercial LEED Platinum certificate from the International Well Building Institute (IWBI); we’re honoured to have been their lighting design and supply partner!

We are selective about the brands we work with, taking great care to choose premium manufacturers who blend superior design with technical expertise, and sustainable ethics. This year, we have secured partnerships with several industry leading names, most recently Impact Acoustic, which creates beautiful, functional, and environmentally-friendly acoustic solutions in collaboration with the highly skilled technicians and engineers at Prolicht. Other quality brands in our network include Normann Copenhagen, Muuto, and ETTLIN LUX®.

One of the main reasons we have achieved so much over the last three and a half years is down to having such an incredible team. During 2022, our headcount increased by 50% and there’s more appointment news in the pipeline to share with you early next year. Since day one, we wanted to create an environment where people genuinely enjoy coming to work, that’s why we remain focused on providing the support staff need to excel. To help us achieve that goal as the team gets bigger, we engaged the employee experience consultants Perky People whose mission is to help organisations design happy workplaces.

Lastly, we’ve been fortunate to have strong connections with outstanding contractors, designers, and project managers who trust us to overcome obstacles, exceeding expectations. These connections continue to develop and we are incredibly grateful for their support. We wish everyone a very happy holidays and a well-deserved break before what promises to be an exciting year ahead.
